Website and booking system for a shared sewing workshop in La Serena: web identity, hourly booking with real availability, WhatsApp confirmation and an admin panel for schedule, customers and content.

Behind the project

La Costurera Cósmica is a shared sewing workshop in La Serena, Chile. It rents stations equipped with industrial and domestic machines, overlockers, a cutting table and professional tools, so makers, designers and hobbyists can produce without setting up their own studio. It works by the hour (1 to 4 hours) or with a 30-hour monthly membership.
The challenge was not only to look good: people needed to book a station on their own, at any time, without the owner coordinating every slot by message.
I designed and built the whole project: web identity, interface, booking flow, database, admin panel and production deployment.
The page presents the place before the service: a hero with the real workshop, what the space is, visible prices, how it works in three steps, what you will find inside and where it is, with a map and a direct Google Maps link. The look comes from the craft: deep green, warm paper, a characterful serif and sewing ornaments, without falling into generic handmade clichés.
Content decisions remove doubts before they appear: "no card required at any point", "from $6,000", "instant confirmation".
Booking is a guided, step-by-step flow: what to book, for how long, which day and time, your details and confirmation. Behind it sits an availability engine designed for a shared space:
There are no online payments on purpose: confirmation and payment close over WhatsApp, which is how the workshop already worked with its customers. The system builds the message from editable templates and can send reminders before each slot.
A private panel to run the business without touching code: daily schedule, booking status, customers with history and internal notes, an audit log of every change, opening hours, exceptions, services and prices, WhatsApp templates and the site copy.
Next.js on Vercel, Supabase for data and role-based access policies, and a responsive interface designed mobile first, since that is where most bookings come from. It sums up how I work: design defines behaviour, and that behaviour ships working to production.
